Name: Candice Williams

Career services office: Career and Community Learning Center (CCLC)

Graduate program:

Educational Psychology-College Counseling and Student Development at St. Cloud State University

Where are you from? Originally from St. Louis, MO and moved up to cold Minnesota in August 2007

What skills have you learned or want to learn while doing your

assistantship/internship? So far, while doing my internship I have learned what it really means to engage the student.  It's about asking the right questions and motivating them to think and act for themselves. It is a skill that has been covered in my counseling courses, but seeing and putting it into action has given me a new perspective on being a meaningful resource and helping develop student autonomy.
