International Student Fall Job or Internship Fair Prep Workshop

If you plan to attend a Fall Job or Internship Fair, this workshop is for you! Through this workshop, you will learn:

  • What to expect at Job and Internship Fair
  • How to target and research companies
  • How to talk about your visa status
  • The elements of how to introduce yourself to a company

**This workshop will also be offered on Thursday, September 17 at 12:00pm and Monday, September 21 at 3:00pm. There is no need to register for either event, but please only attend one session.

International Student/Alumni Networking Event: Career in Business

Attend this event to connect with 20+ international alumni who are currently working in the Twin Cities area in business fields. This event is a great follow up to the International Student Fall Job or Internship Fair Prep Workshop (Event ID: 2586) happening on September 17th!

The first portion of the event will involve speed networking with alumni to gain advice about job and internship searching in the United States including how to network, how to prepare for upcoming career fairs, interview tips, US job search culture, etc. 

The second portion of the event will involve small group practice of introductions (also called "personal commercials") with alumni. This will be great preparation for talking with employers at the upcoming fairs. 

Registration is required and limited to students pursuing business-related majors. If the event is full in GoldPASS, you are invited to come to the event of the day of and students will be allowed to attend on a first-come, first-serve basis if there is space.

CLA Internship Fair Prep Workshop

Do you want to attend the CLA Internship Fair but you’re not sure what it is or what to do when you’re there?  Attend this workshop for answers and advice from CLA Career Services staff and employers.  We’ll tell you about the employers attending and how to conduct research on those organizations and their available internships. A few employers attending the fair will be at the workshop to answer your questions. Tips include how to dress, what to bring with you to the fair, and how to quickly make a good impression.  If you prepare in advance by attending this workshop, you’re more likely to find an internship through this event.


Registration not required for the CLA Internship Fair Preparation workshop – simply show up! A limited number of padfolios will be given away to students who attend the workshop.

3M Info Session

Employees working at 3M across different divisions will be present to speak about the different things they do in their jobs. At the end, you will get the chance to ask them questions and network!

Google Lightning Tech Talk

College of Science and Engineering Career Fair

September 22nd and 23rd, 2015 10:00am - 4:00pm

The College of Science and Engineering's annual career fair will be held over two days this year due to employer demand. Students are encouraged to visit both days. Pre-register for each day separately by logging into GoldPASS and searching for events 2553 and 2554. The full list of employers attending along with information about preparation workshops will not be available until later in the summer.

 

This fair is open to College of Science and Engineering undergraduate and graduate students as well as alumni who have graduated in the past three years.

MN Twins 2015 Sports Internship & Career Fair

The 2015 Sports Internship & Career Fair will offer job seekers the opportunity to learn about a variety of internship and employment opportunities with many teams and sports related organizations throughout the upper Midwest.  The fair will be exclusive to participants who register for the event in advance. The $20.00 entry fee will include one reserved ticket to the 7:10 game that night against the Cleveland Indians and a food coupon that can be redeemed for a hot dog and soft drink at one of the Target Field concession stands.  To allow the maximum number of job seekers access to this event we are limiting entrance to intern/employment seekers only.  A special ticket voucher will be required for admission.

CLA Internship Fair

This event is open only to CLA students and is FREE for students to attend. Employers at this event will have many diverse internships available in the for-profit, non-profit, and government sectors. This event is also an opportunity to develop your networking skills and to get advice about internships and full-time professional work. While this event is open to all CLA students, those in their sophomore or junior year are strongly encouraged to attend!

Head of the Lakes Fall Job & Internship Fair

The Head of the Lakes Job & Internship Fair is a general (all majors) job fair held annually at UMD. Employers will be seeking candidates for internships and full-time positions, as well as promoting their company.

 

The fair is free and open to students and recent alumni from the University of Minnesota, University of Wisconsin-Superior, and the College of St Scholastica. Students register at the door on the day of the event.
